What is a modern folding screen?

Folding screens were both "furniture" and "decoration" essential to people's lives until the Edo period.
Put up a folding screen wherever you like...It was used to avoid people's attention and to separate spaces.

Traditional folding screens are made by an artist who carefully paints the finished folding screen, such as a plain or gold folding screen, with the screen flattened.

In ancient times, folding screens generally had even numbers, such as ``2 sides (curved)'', ``4 sides'', and ``6 sides''. The modern version of the folding screen® has newly adopted "three sides".

Rolling method
Partitions often have their edges cut off, which can cause them to peel off over time. The modern version of Byobu® uses the ``wrapping method'', in which the painting material is rolled up to the inside of the frame, resulting in a beautiful finish right down to the edges.
